Owner's and lender's engineering

From the assessment of tender documents and bids to design reviews, and from site supervision to acceptance testing, we provide the support the scope of the work calls for.

Owner's and lender's engineering covers the engineering work carried out across a project's life cycle. It is our widest service, and it takes in all our other areas of expertise.

How we work

Our owner's engineer services give project owners an independent technical review of their project. In solar project financing we support financial institutions by serving as lender's engineer or independent engineer.

  • Laptop with an energy data dashboard

    Checking the yield studies

The work begins by reviewing and checking the project's energy yield studies.

  • Document folders filed in an open drawer

    Technical documents and tender

We review the technical documents, and assess the bidders and their bids technically.

    Design review

We review the EPC contractor's designs against the project requirements and share our opinion with the owner.

  • Interior of a solar module manufacturing facility

    Factory production tests

We attend the factory acceptance tests (FAT) of transformers, solar modules, inverters and other main equipment, and assess the results.

  • Aerial view of a large solar plant with site works and cabins along its edge, the sea beyond

    Site supervision

Throughout construction we supervise the site works and the installation of the equipment on the owner's behalf, and report on progress.

  • Engineer in a hard hat checking rooftop solar modules with a handheld thermal camera

    Acceptance tests and monitoring

We carry out the I-V, thermal and visual tests within IEC 62446, then go on to monitor the plant's energy production.

What we deliver

Our deliverables are set by the scope of each job; we do not hand over the same report package on every project.

  • Hands pointing at a printed technical drawing

    Opinions on technical documents

We give our opinion on the tender documents and technical specifications in writing.

  • Stacks of clipped bid documents on a desk

    Bid assessments

We compare the bids and the bidders' technical capability against the same criteria.

  • Two engineers reviewing a layout drawing on a solar array

    Design review notes

We compare the EPC contractor's designs with the project requirements and note our comments item by item.

  • Aerial view of a solar plant under construction, structures partly fitted

    Site progress reports

We report progress on site and the non-conformities we find to the owner in regular reports.

  • An electrician taking notes at an electrical panel

    Inspection and test reports

We report the results of factory and site tests with the methods and standards applied.
