Acceptance inspection and testing

For solar commissioning we carry out the inspections, electrical measurements and tests the project's scope calls for, and give acceptance a basis.

At commissioning we carry out the tests within IEC 62446 on site: I-V measurements, thermal inspections and visual inspections.

How we work

Our solar inspection services are delivered as an accredited Type A inspection body, independent of the plant's designer, suppliers and contractor. We report each test with its standard and the accreditation scope of the activity it belongs to.

  • Engineer inspecting the edge of a solar module closely

    Visual inspection

We inspect the plant visually within IEC 62446-1.

  • Two engineers in hard hats taking an electrical measurement at an open combiner box on a rooftop solar plant

    I-V measurements

Through IV curve testing we measure and assess the current-voltage (I-V) curves of the strings.

  • Engineer in a hard hat aiming a thermal camera at a row of ground-mounted modules, mountains behind

    Thermal inspection

We carry out the plant's thermographic inspection within IEC TS 62446-3. Thermal imaging of the solar panels, often as a drone solar inspection, covers the whole plant.

  • Aerial view of the Romainville solar plant in Seychelles, where we carried out the inspection

    Battery integration checks

In BESS commissioning on storage and hybrid projects we check the integration with the battery system, the connections and the energy flow.

What we deliver

Our deliverables are set by the scope of each job; we do not hand over the same report package on every project.

  • An engineer with a tablet beside an irradiance sensor on a module row

    The scope of the tests

We state which inspections and tests were carried out on which parts of the plant.

  • A thermal camera showing the heat image of solar modules

    The methods used

We give each test's method, its standard and its place in our accreditation scope.

  • A handheld irradiance meter held over rooftop solar modules

    The measurement results

We present the measured values with the measurement conditions and the instruments used.

  • Two engineers in hard hats talking at a solar plant

    A technical assessment

We explain what the results show for acceptance, and the non-conformities we found.

At acceptance we report every measurement with its standard and its accreditation scope; whether the plant is taken over rests on those records.
