Confidentiality, Impartiality and Independence Commitment

We provide our services independently of the parties involved.

We carry out inspections on the principles of competence, impartiality, independence and integrity, to meet the needs of clients, statutory authorities and other organisations concerned.

We are not part of any legal entity that designs, manufactures, supplies, installs, purchases, owns, uses or maintains the items we inspect.

We identify and assess in our register of risks to impartiality (LS-04) every risk to impartiality that may arise from our activities, our relationships or the relationships of our personnel.

We are responsible for the impartiality of our inspection activities and do not allow commercial, financial or other pressures to compromise it.

We do not engage in any activity that could conflict with the independence and integrity of our inspection decisions.

When a risk to impartiality is identified, we apply the measures laid down to eliminate it.

If anything affecting our impartiality is found in an inspection, we carry out that inspection again.

Our personnel work free from internal, external, commercial, financial and other influences; they have no relationships of interest with any group or institution, and they avoid any interaction that could adversely affect their decisions.

We carry out our work with integrity under the rule of law, and protect the principles of confidentiality, impartiality and independence towards all parties concerned with the utmost care.

We are responsible for managing all information obtained or created during inspection.

Except for information the client makes public, or that we agree with the client (for example, to respond to complaints), we treat all information as proprietary and keep it confidential.

All reports, financial, legal and commercial information, trademarks, trade secrets and any other information, whether or not legally protected, that the CLIENT discloses to us under the Contract, together with all commercial, financial and technical information we learn under the Contract in writing or orally, and all CLIENT and market information, are confidential information.

Without the CLIENT's prior written consent, we do not use any part of the confidential information or data for any purpose other than those the CLIENT considers necessary for the activities concerned.

All data and products arising from the activities under the Contract belong to the CLIENT, and we take every measure needed to protect the CLIENT's rights and interests in them.

We also treat as confidential any information about the CLIENT obtained from other sources (for example, claimants or regulators).

We keep confidential information and data in strict confidence, do not disclose them to any third party except where the Contract permits, and do not use them, directly or indirectly, outside the purposes of the Contract.
